Current ACT Core Structure

The current ACT core contains 131 questions: 50 English, 45 Mathematics, and 36 Reading. Science is optional on the official ACT and is not included in this 131-question core product.

  • English: 50 questions covering production of writing, knowledge of language, and standard English conventions.
  • Mathematics: 45 questions covering algebra, functions, geometry, statistics, modeling, and essential skills.
  • Reading: 36 questions covering key ideas, craft and structure, and integration of knowledge.

Every question includes a teaching explanation. The results portal provides section analysis, searchable review, PDF printing, Crown Tier ranking, and an IBM Quantum verified Result Verification ID. The ID confirms an unofficial US Testing Center practice-test result; it is not an ACT score or admissions credential.
